DESCRIPTION

This brand ID for National Geographic is based on the brief period of branding for channels like Nat Geo, Discovery and History which sought to capitalize on the sensational aesthetics of low-country Americana such as American Pickers and Pawn Stars, as well as the gritty "realism" of popular reality shows like Deadliest Catch a show which Nat Geo mimicked in the form of Wicked Tuna. They had a few other shows in the same vein such as Drug Inc and Life Below Zero. These shows are what informed my piece.
